Your Warcraft III username: MuMiX
Ban reason: troll items
Why you should be unbanned:Item discussion:
All my items are items that could reasonably be expected to sometimes be bought on sven:
Standard is Treads, I made Phase. Why? I figured I’d be doing a lot of running from jugg spin and doom chases and wanted the extra ms. Was it the right conclusion? No, in hindsight, I still should have made treads and just had good map awareness and picked my battles, as winning battles was more important than some extra ms and attack speed is important for that on sven. Believe I have seen RetardedDog do the phase build multiple times.
Standard is HotD, I made HotD. I almost skipped HotD for a SnY like I did the prior sven game (which we won), thinking Gyro was going to be farming ancients and I could go for a fighting build instead of farming build… but I saw we were not doing that great in our lanes so I figured I would need to farm neutrals for a bit. I dominated a creep and sent it to ancients to start stacking.
Standard is echo sabre at this point, and I went agha. Sven agha stun works through Thrall glimpse, so in the moment it seemed like a cool idea. You could argue buy blink dagger and blink on the thrall and kill him, but I was also worried that if I did that, I would get focused down while being separated from team (our teamplay wasn’t really too great up to this point in the game). You could also argue if i had both blink and bkb I wouldn’t have to worry about glimpse either. With agha however I could have some mobility to go for 2nd or 3rd kills. In hindsight, I should have just trusted my team a little more and went for the dagger to catch people with our team’s combos. Believe the agha sven is a staple item for Trucker.
Standard after echo/blink would be bkb. The doom was using ulti on me several times this game, which is why I didn’t want to go bkb next thinking oh well doom will just ulti me anyways as it goes through bkb. But this is false logic, because if I position correctly, I can cast my ulti + bkb + armor and blink in before doom casts his spells on me and at least I would have the damage/armor for the fight. I opted for the Skadi because a few fights where doom ultied me showed I was not tanky enough yet for the battles. In the moment, I thought maybe I should tank more and just survive the long battles (they had ds, doom, and jugg… hard to focus heroes). Not saying it was the right logic but it was what I thought in the moment. Figured the slow on skadi will help chase down the ds/doom/jugg as well, with extra slow from bristle’s goo. Many years ago I saw someone do well with the skadi sven, so that’s why I thought of it.
Before the final battle, I was 100 gold away from finishing linkens, so that I could try and disrupt doom ulti… I bought the perseverance because of miscalculation thinking I had enough for recipe, and then ended up not having enough for either linken recipe or buyback… a mistake.Overall, the items left me as a tank without enough dps or attack speed, when we already had bristleback on the team for tanking. So I agree, my overall item build was not good, but as discussed above, the items made were not made for fun or with an intent to lose. It was just bad logic that led to bad build.
My sven record
I would like to point out that 3 out of 4 games on sven where I went the standard build, I lost. And I won the recent game where I went non standard build. Small sample size I know, but it was in the back of my mind that I have not had good luck on the standard build so far this season, so that gave me confidence to try something different. I have never once bought aghanims on sven in my life, and many people call it “op”, so I decided to give it a try.Troll or grief?
In regards to whether or not the items or my gameplay were “troll” or “grief”, in the sense that I was intentionally doing something “fun” or intentionally trying to lower our odds of winning… I dispute that entirely. There were two reasons for the poor logic and the overall poor play:1) I had a bad headache during the game, and was feeling a bit tired. Often when I’m on the computer for too long I get severe headaches and/or brain fog (I have an issue with my eyes, starting vision therapy in a few weeks), and these contribute to my inability to quickly process information in an accurate way. I’ll have slow reactions, I’ll make bad decisions, etc. So yes everyone can sit around and say “i know you aren’t that dumb mumix”, but the reality is, when my brain fog comes in heavy, I AM that dumb.
2) I was indeed a bit tilted from the game. Berna was not using her spells at opportune moments in the early laning, and fed several kills to the enemy. In mid game, Rice can be seen running up mid lane really far and somewhat alone and dying. I ask team to come to top lane to push, they chase from our side of the river all the way past enemy t2 tower because of a gyro missile, when we had no vision of anything. So there was a lot I was watching in the game that was tilting. That does NOT mean that I started “griefing” or “trolling” because of it, but it does mean that I was distracted. Yes, when someone is frustrated, it makes it harder to focus on their own game. I struggle with this sometimes.
Gameplay
Overall, I tried to play, and tried to win. Yes, I played poorly overall, with slow reactions and occasionally being out of position. However, I did not afk, did not refuse to defend, did not charge at enemies 1v5, or anything of the sort. I was streaming the entire game, and multiple people who watched the stream have attested that I did not give up on the game. The Community
I find it very disheartening that people instantly start throwing out accusations of griefing and trolling without trying to first have a conversation. Sleepy asked me during the game about the items, sure, but I’m not going to write a novel during the game. At that point in the game, I had decided I was not going to chat anymore since I felt like I was upsetting people with my chat, since I was expressing frustration with what was going on in the game. But as soon as we got out of the game, and we got to discord, the spamming of insults began, and the instant ban appeared. There was no conversation attempt whatsoever by anyone. Only accusations and insults. My Apology
Ok, so I’m sure by this point in the appeal, you are like what the heck MuMiX, that’s great and all, but stop being a clown, you don’t seem to be admitting any guilt, apologizing for what you did, and promising not to do it again. While I will not admit to “griefing”, I will admit that I was not in a good state to be playing the game. So I will apologize for not having the self-awareness to NOT queue for the game, and will try to be more cognizant of my physical and mental state in the future. On the question of how bad were my items, well in hindsight, it is obvious that my items were bad, but in my opinion, not to the level of a 72 hour ban. It is not to the extent of say a dagon or necro book sven or something. Also, it is rare that I do a bad build that may be considered “grief” or “troll” (by my standards). I will say I don’t mind the ban if there was consistency in regards to item bans. I have seen many others do very blatant troll builds and not get banned… because they are t1 so we forgive them, or they are t4 so we forgive them… or we just know they are perma brain damaged so we forgive them. Others also typically get a few warnings before they get banned. My last warning was what, last season? So if anything, I’d ask for a reduction simply because of this being a first ban for items, and not the most egregious of offenses either.
With that said, there’s only 2 days left in the season, so I am requesting a full unban so I can finish the season out. I don’t need a 2 day break because I’m tired, I just need a night’s rest. This has nothing to do with needing my month long off-season break, I just need a little sleep! If it helps my case any, I would accept a deal that next instance of a troll-looking build this season receive a longer ban that would spill over into next season as well.

The client is appealing for an unban for malicious play in a game. They made non-standard item choices for their hero, Sven, and explained that it was due to bad judgement rather than an intention to troll or grief the game. They argue that their poor play was due to a headache and being tilted by the game, and that they did not give up or play against their team. They apologize for not realizing they were not in the right state of mind to play and promise to be more mindful of their mental and physical state in the future. They ask for a full unban before the end of the season and offer to accept a deal for a longer ban if they make another ‘troll-looking build’ for the season.
