FBG World Tournament

ATTENTION:

First Blood Gaming will be hosting a DotA 1 Tournament for any and all players interested in competing, and this will be the biggest tournament FBG have ever had! This will see a collection of the most talented and competitive players and will be supported by the community with large prizes, constant streaming and commentary, and most importantly high quality and moderated games. Please read below for the relevant information regarding this tournament and how you can play.

Dates: Registration Deadline December 1st @ 23:00GMT

December 2nd 9:00 UTC/5:00am EST – Preliminary Rounds, matches will happen throughout the whole day based on the schedule.
December 3rd 14:00 UTC/10:00am EST – Semi-Finals
December 9th 16:00 UTC/12:00pm EST – Finals

The starting times for each team may differ based on the teams playing, e.g. American teams will not start 9:00 UTC on December 2 but will have their games later in the day.

(Finals can be rescheduled if both teams agree on a date, otherwise any team not showing up at a scheduled time will forfeit)

Format: Round robin where there will be 2 pools for the teams. Each team in a pool will play every other team in their respective pool. If a team wins 2-0 against another team the winners will gain 3 points, if there are ties between two teams, both teams will gain 1 point. The top 2 teams in each pool will advance to the semi-finals. In the event of a shared 2nd place, the team with the most won games will advance.

Game Mode: Captain’s Mode

Rules: * 2 minute pause allowed beginning of game (5 minutes total per team)
* Any disconnect after the first minute must result in the game continuing (Only exception is up to captain agreement or admin decision)
* Any use of ghosting via voice chat, account sharing, direct messaging, stream sniping, or intentional subversion of the rules is subject to voiding the team of any prizes and participation in the tournament, as well as penalties extending into next season
* Any excessive flaming or racist behavior can result in a player being substituted with an alternate, or in extreme circumstances, removal of a team from the tournament.

Prizes: $500 – First Place
$100 – Second Place
Prize pool can be increased based on donations

Buy-In: None, this tournament is free to enter for any team

Rosters: 5 players.
Team size is 5 for the preliminary games (Saturday 2 december). If a sub is needed you can invite inactive players (= 3 months or more haven’t played), players outside FBG (e.g. iCCup, RGC), t3.5 players or worse, or admins to substitute. This means that for the preliminary games t3 players or stronger may not be used as substitutes UNLESS they are inactive or come from outside FBG. Better sign up if you want to play.
For the semi-finals and finals the above rule does not apply: here you may take any player not in the currently playing teams as sub, with a limit of 2 subs.
