Hero Siege Gold can help Marksman players prepare for the new testing phase introduced by version 7.0.12, but the most important update is mechanical rather than economic. Marksman Vault and its connected sub-nodes now carry the Projectile tag, while iArrow remains outside that classification. That distinction may alter which bonuses recognize the skill.
Instead of immediately replacing a familiar Season 10 setup, players should treat this patch as a controlled experiment. The goal is to discover whether Vault gains meaningful value from projectile-focused effects, not simply to assume that every related modifier now applies.
Why the Projectile Tag Matters for Vault
Tags act as interaction signals between skills and support effects. Before version 7.0.12, Vault may have been overlooked by upgrades that specifically check for projectile behavior. With the new tag, effects tied to projectile travel, pierce, split behavior, or projectile damage deserve another look.
The important exception is iArrow. Because it does not share the new classification, its performance may remain closer to the old rules. This creates a useful contrast inside the same branch: Vault can be tested against projectile-oriented bonuses while iArrow provides a reference point for effects that appear unchanged.
Set Up a Clean Testing Range
Begin with one familiar area containing durable targets and predictable enemy density. Record Vault’s damage, cooldown feel, travel behavior, and clear speed without changing equipment. Repeat the same cast pattern several times, since a single critical hit or unusual enemy position can distort the result.
Keep your weapon, relics, charms, and defensive choices stable during the first pass. If your character is still being leveled, note the exact skill ranks and relevant stats. A reliable retest depends on changing one factor at a time rather than rebuilding the entire character between attempts.
Modifiers Worth Revisiting
Projectile damage bonuses are the obvious starting point, but they should not be the only focus. Test effects that influence projectile count, penetration, size, travel distance, return behavior, or on-hit triggers. Some may improve Vault directly, while others may affect only the surrounding arrows or secondary attacks.
Pay attention to practical performance as well as the largest damage number. A modifier that raises single-target output may be less useful than one that improves pack coverage or makes Vault safer to use. Compare boss damage, ordinary clearing, and resource pressure separately so one strong result does not hide a weakness elsewhere.
Choose the Right Skill Configuration
The old setup still deserves a fair trial. It may provide smoother movement, stronger defense, or better synergy with iArrow, especially if the projectile interactions are narrow. The revised setup becomes attractive when its added scaling improves both clear speed and meaningful target damage without creating awkward cooldown gaps.
For many Marksman players, the best answer may be a partial adjustment rather than a complete respec. Move a few points toward projectile support, test the result, and retain enough utility for movement and survival. This approach keeps the comparison practical and makes it easier to identify which node is actually responsible for the improvement.
Version 7.0.12 gives Marksman Vault a reason to be examined with fresh eyes, but careful testing matters more than immediate conclusions. Once your results are clear, spending cheap Hero Siege Gold on gear upgrades can support the revised setup, provided the build still performs well across both routine maps and demanding encounters.
