This guy is obviously perfect for Lihl. Auto-vouch.
Conclusion: Bad recruitment policy
Reliable and solid player, easy to play with. !support
!No support
Weak builds and arrogant attitude when confronted with different opinion. He is polite enough, but I am not sure that will stay that way once he is full member. Either way the combo of weakish skill and sensitiveness to someone commenting his builds are bad enough. Just for clarification, he doesn’t flame or anything like that when you comment on his build, he just offers 1 word replies “sure” “yeah” “right” and such and proceeds to build his own way without explanation for it. That is not good approach even if you are a full member and beyond doubt of your game skill and its way worse if you are a trial and a trial with some questionable history in lihl.
Ragequit ban was always 5 days, too much or too little, I don’t really know but no one really complained about its length, cause lihl always considered ragequit the worst thing you can do other than ghosting or maphacking. No show bans were 24 hours before maybe? But even 36 isn’t too much since there is a warning system in place, so it happens only to people who do it often.
Same advice for you Deckard. Figure out who to listen and who not. Ignore the ragers and flamers. If you expected a very friendly environment you expected wrong, but you can fit in once you figure things out. You all should have faith that moderators will judge based on your actual performance rather than some random unsubstantiated talk. So replays are the only real measure of your skill and attitude, ignore the rest.
Support. Has things to learn yet, but he has gotten noticeably better since he joined and his attitude is simply amazing.
Man, nothing has changed in lihl since the time you were a member, well at least when it comes to this kind of talk. So just do the same thing you would have done back then. As a trial everyone will try to give you advice, those who know better and those who don’t. Try to figure out who is who and leave the decision to moderation and stop taking everything to heart. You were once veteran member, a lihl mod if I am not wrong also, so you know you can get there skill-wise sooner or later if you aren’t there yet (Can’t say cause I am not active). Relax and try to enjoy it for a change.
Can’t rely on common sense here, knowing how lihlers act. When is it that game ends? When its obvious? When king dies? When text shows You Win, or You lose? Since there is no bot function to prevent people from signing before game ends, who is going to pay attention if someone signed a few seconds before to gain the spot or not? Its going to lead to way to much abuse and argument left just to common sense and “fairness”. Winners getting spots first would work only partially, since you can never know that you will have at least 4 free spots in queue, so who among winners gets them then? Same thing goes if there is more than 4 spots, who among losers gets to sign for those few spots? Those who typed !sign first? How can you know if they waited for king death or not? My suggestion is to implement via discord bot an option that those in game can’t sign until game is declared ended by typing something like !end lihl10. Like a flag that each player will have that is set to “false” every time discord bot creates a game with them in it. Game creator’s responsibility would be to wait till king dies to actually type that and only then can the players from that game sign for the new one, because !end lihl10 would set their player flag to “true”. In absence of a game bot, its the best solution in my opinion, not a perfect one, but not a bad one either. Everything else just screams of abuse.
